Most of us know John Kerry as the crown prince of flip-flops. Mr. Kerry had the unfortunate habit of taking both sides of controversial issues and thus becoming to the political world what Dilbert’s Pointy Haired Boss is to micromanaged serfs everywhere. When questioned about his platform dyslexia and the ambidextrous nature of his moral compass Kerry would simply swear, declare himself a war hero, and ask his wife for a raise in his allowance as a way to make the pain go away. Due to recent events it would seem that the infamous flip-flop crown has been passed on to Mrs. Bill Clinton.

Recently Hillary Clinton flipped her position on crime in such a dramatic way that she may as well have said “I was actually for before the pardon of Scooter Libby before I was against it”. During the June 28th, Democrat debate, Hillary Clinton said the following: "Nonviolent offenders should not be serving hard time in our prisons. They need to be diverted from our prison system."

Mr. Libby was convicted of lying during the investigation of a crime where no actual underlying offense was ever found. This is sort of like being jailed for shooting at Sasquatch. Somebody who is accused of lying about an alleged crime that two years of intense investigation couldn’t prove actually happened probably qualifies as “nonviolent offender”.

After President Bush commuted the sentence of Lewis Libby, Hillary suddenly was less enthusiastic about the idea of nonviolent felons going home. In a press release that went out from her camp less than four days after the June 28th debate, Mrs. Bill Clinton flip-flopped in a way that would have made John Kerry stand up and cheer with admiration.

"Today's decision is yet another example that this administration simply considers itself above the law. This commutation sends the clear signal that in this administration, cronyism and ideology trump competence and justice."

Add this to her dozen positions on the war and her struggles in trying to work out if her last name is Clinton , Rodham, or Rodham-Clinton and you have a flip-flop deity in the making.
